dead bugs galore
After looking and looking and reviewing the internet and all the different prices out there I decided on this one for killing mosquitos. Am I glad I did. The first nite I hung it right on the deck close to the house and the next morning there were a pile of dead bugs including moths and lots of mosquitos. So I left it there for a week and than moved it 25 ft. from the house. I can honestly tell you this thing works because I live on the edge of a swamp and before I had this I couldnt even think of sitting on my deck. And it lights up the whole back yard. Very happy with the product.

Update: I have a con for you, after running it all night for 3 nights. The metal connection points are covered in bug parts. A pro that contradicts my fellow Texan in Austin, it kills Texas mosquitoes just fine. If you add the little attractant as I did on the second night. I never got bit, don't know what your doing up in Austin but just outside San Antonio no problems.
I received my Flowtron fast, about 4 days faster than they said I would with the free shipping. I was a bit concerned when I grabbed the box off my front porch because it was shipped in its box. Not placed in a bigger box with padding, granted it would be a very large box if they did. Although because if this lack of protection the box was dented. I pulled it out and nothing was wrong with it, good so far.
I set it in my living room because I had to get a mounting bracket. That Friday night I had yet to get a bracket but the bugs were bad outback. So I strung up with some rope and tied it to the bracket for my satellite dish. I know not the best idea but I might have had a few in me.
I plugged it in, the glow was intense. To the point if you are close and look at it after being in the dark it hurts the eyes a little. The bugs immediately started to flock to the beacon of purple light. Within five minutes, the zapper was going nuts. I think I was pulling the bugs from my neighbor's yards as well. My lot is only 3/4s of an acre.
The following Monday I picked up a bracket ($5 at Lowes). I mounted the light at the far side of the house from the patio. The 25' recommendation away from people should be followed. If you go near the zapper, the swarm of bugs is like something out of a Steven King movie. I keep the zapper plugged in all night; it cooks the bugs from dusk to dawn.
A few notes: If you mount it off a wall the bugs will cover the wall as well. Also with the dogs, my 2yr old boxer runs over when it is zapping a big bug for a prolonged time. She just looks at it wondering what it is. Now the 7wk old puppies love it, because the love to eat bugs. The zapper has given them an all you can eat buffet. I am working on breaking them of that.

I'm really happy with this product! As soon as it was delivered, I said to the driver, I have been waiting for that! I immediately installed it and since then it's been zapping away the annoying mosquitoes! May wife used to be a mosquito magnet, but unfortunately I can't use her as bait for the zapper! LOL! So the Octenol lure will have to do.
Now in the evening all you hear is the zapping and the noisy treefrogs in the woods. Good Stuff!

NponToxic Bug Killer
We hung this up according to the directions in the box. It works well and we have been delighted with it. However, our dogs are probably more delighted since they are no longer bothered by as many flies.
Birds also like it as they eat the dead bugs that fall onto the ground out of the bug killer.

Great bug light
After purchasing 3 stingers from Wal Mart I read the reviews here and went with this flowtron. It certainly lived up to the billing on the reviews. I will be curious to see how it does next season, but the first season was great.

Simple, affordable, and effective
Before buying this zapper, I was considering buying one of the more expensive mosquito vacuums or traps. Most of those have mixed reviews, and cost in excess of $30-$40 per month for propane and bait. I decided to give this a try first, since it's about 1/5 the cost initially - and only a few bucks a month to operate. I was pleasantly surprised. It is a simple setup, just hang it and plug it in (note, there's no pole included - but you can pick up a 'shepherds hook' at a local Garden/hardware store). The optional octenol cartridge seemed confusing to install from the instructions, but really all you do is stick them to the bottom of the unit. Since the first time I plugged the unit in, it has constantly been zapping bugs. Granted, it is not discriminate - but there are definitely a lot of dead mosquitos piled under it every morning. We've had it for a month now, and it hasn't completely eliminated the mosquitos - but it has definitely thinned them out. I am hoping next season will be much better as I'll start using it in the early spring. I have also dropped the unit once, and it fell into the side of the house once - and it still works! Overall a very simple, affordable, and effective solution to mosquito problems.

Flowtron BK-80D ROCKS
This product beats the crud out of the 3 Stinger products I purchased from the 'Depot. Those were absolute JUNK and they never worked. HOWEVER, the Flowtron is on-point keeping my yard clean with a steard stream of those wonderful "ZAP" sounds. I can now sit on my porch for hours with out fear of being eaten alive by the bugs. I have a creek in my back-yard so we have the WORST mosquitoes. Not anymore!
